More Dome Pics
To the right you can see me measuring the distance between the center of the dome and the newly placed adobe block to make sure it makes a nice, perfect dome shape. Here is a pic of the adobe blocks we made out of the dirt in Rich's back yard. They are in the process of drying..
Test Dome
Rich started building a test structure last year when we came and visited. We helped build some of it when we were here. It is now near completion. At the moment, it needs to be finished being painted then glazed. It has already been fired once and will be fired a second time to harden the glaze. Farther down you can see the dome with a nice smooth coating of adobe over it and the beginning of the painting process.
